Call for Applications - Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Agricultural Science Education

The University for Development Studies (UDS), Ghana's premier pro-poor and community-engaged university, invites applications from qualified candidates for admission into its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Agricultural Science Education.

The programme has been developed to address the growing demand for highly skilled scholars, researchers and teacher-educators who will provide leadership in agricultural education, curriculum development, policy, research, teacher preparation and innovation. It seeks to strengthen Ghana's agricultural transformation agenda through world-class doctoral training that responds to local and global development needs.

Admission Requirements

Category A

  1. Hold an MPhil in Agricultural Science Education or a closely related field from a recognised institution.
  2. Minimum CGPA of 3.5 (5-point scale) or 3.0 (4-point scale).
  3. Submit official academic transcripts.
  4. Provide at least two referees' reports, one from a former lecturer.
  5. Submit a 10–15-page research proposal.
  6. Pass an interview and/or entrance examination where applicable.

Category B

  1. Hold an MPhil in another discipline together with qualifications in Education or possess at least 10 years of relevant professional experience in education.
  2. Meet the prescribed CGPA requirement.
  3. Submit required academic documents, referees' reports and research proposal.
  4. Pass an interview and/or entrance examination.
