UDS School of Engineering Engages Industry Players at AgroTech Fair 2026

As part of UDS’ participation in the AgroTech Fair 2026, the School of Engineering engaged with industry players, policymakers, manufacturers and technology developers to explore opportunities for collaboration in agricultural engineering and technology development.

The School displayed some of its research and development outputs in agricultural engineering, with particular focus on practical technologies designed to improve efficiency, productivity and food security.

The engagement offered the School an important opportunity to network with stakeholders in the agricultural and industrial sectors, share knowledge, and explore pathways for transforming research outputs into market-ready innovations.

Among the solutions showcased were agricultural machinery and equipment developed to support mechanisation, reduce drudgery and improve agricultural production processes. The exhibition attracted interest from several industry players, some of whom expressed their willingness to collaborate with UDS in further developing and commercialising the technologies.

A lecturer at the School of Engineering, Ing. Dr. Mubarick, described the engagement as promising and timely.
“We are excited about the potential collaborations and partnerships that can arise from this engagement,” he said.

The School of Engineering’s participation further demonstrated UDS’s commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry. Through such engagements, the University aims to ensure that its research does not remain only in laboratories and lecture halls, but is translated into practical solutions that can serve farmers, agribusinesses and communities.

The collaboration between UDS and industry players is expected to contribute significantly to Ghana’s agricultural transformation agenda by promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, mechanisation and local technology development.

The AgroTech Fair 2026 therefore served as a valuable platform for UDS to showcase its capacity, strengthen partnerships and reaffirm its role as a key institution in advancing agriculture, technology and national development.
