DR. ZAKARIA SEIDULECTURERDEPARTMENT OF BIOCHEMISTRY FACULTY OF BIOSCIENCENYANKPALA Campus
Background
I am a molecular parasitologist by training specialised in studying various aspects of Plasmodium falciparum malaria, mainly exploring the relationship between haemoglobinopathies and the transmission, immunology, parasitology, and pathogenesis of the disease. In addition to the foregoing, I have professional experience in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) research and has served as a consultant for several local and international WASH projects. My current research interest areas are:
Malaria transmission, immunology and pathogenesis
Food and Water-borne diseases
Phytotherapeutics with anti-microbial activity
Plant-based dyes and bio-insecticides
Improving WASH services in communities and emergency settings
