Prof. Martin Nyaaba Adokiya is the Head of Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Disease Control in the School of Public Health, UDS

Prof. Matin is well known for his quest for excellence and aspires to:  

  • Work with his colleagues to strengthen the research capacity and influence in Ghana and beyond
  • Engage with collaborators/partners and work on improving network-building skills and impact
  • Identify area of student and young faculty need and provide solutions

His achievements include but not limited to:

  • Member, Consortium of Universities for Global Health: Education Committee
  • Fellow, Fogarty Global Health: Northern Pacific Global Health Research Fellows Training Consortium 
  • Grantee, WHO-AFRO with TDR and EDCTP award for Implementation Research on Infectious Diseases of Poverty.

Prof. Martin Nyaaba Adokiya’s research/scholarly interests lies in global health, maternal & child health, infectious diseases, immunization, health systems and research capacity training in Ghana.

He has many publications in local and international journals in his name
