DR. ABDUL-MUMEEN IDDRISULECTURERDEPARTMENT OF BIOCHEMISTRY FACULTY OF BIOSCIENCENYANKPALA Campus
Background
Abdul-Mumeen Iddrisu is a Lecturer in the Biochemistry Department of the Faculty of Biosciences, University for Development Studies. He serves as the Department representative in both the Faculty and Campus Boards. He also represents the Faculty of Biosciences in the School of Communication and Media Studies Faculty Board. He has served as Third Trimester Field Practical Programme (TTFPP) District Coordinator for the Krachi-Nchumuru District. Dr. Iddrisu has 4 years of official work experience with the University for Development Studies but has more than 20 years of teaching experience overall. In a little over a decade, Dr. Iddrisu has published 18 refereed article publications and has attended many international and local conferences. Dr. Iddrisu has taught course in his field such as Applied Biochemistry, Introductory Biochemistry, Basic Chemistry, Analytical Techniques, Organic Synthesis and Mechanisms and Natural Product Chemistry. As an Industrial Biochemist, his research interests are on the bioconversion of biomass, bioremediation, biofuels, biopesticides, bio-solvents, food biochemistry, waste water and the general waste valorization. Dr. Iddrisu is a renowned researcher into shea and shea products and offers diligent consultancy services to the myriad of individuals and organizations that stake in shea. Thus, he has won a number of young researcher grants related to shea and currently serves as an adjunct staff to the West African Centre for Shea Innovation and Research (WACSIR). He is currently looking for collaborators and grant opportunities into his area of expertise.
