Dr. Vida Yakong of UDS Honored at 4th National Nursing and Midwifery Excellence and Hall of Fame Awards

On November 15, 2024, the vibrant city of Takoradi hosted the 4th National Nursing and Midwifery Excellence and Hall of Fame Awards, organized by the Ministry of Health. This prestigious event celebrated outstanding individuals and institutions driving innovation and excellence in nursing and midwifery across Ghana. Among the luminaries recognized was Dr. Vida Yakong, Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University for Development Studies (UDS), who emerged as the winner of the distinguished Education and Research Award category.

A Rigorous Selection Process
The selection process for the award was both rigorous and transparent, combining a comprehensive evaluation of interviews (accounting for 60% of the total score) and public voting (40%). After this careful evaluation, Dr. Vida Yakong stood out as a trailblazer in the Nursing and Midwifery sector.
