Cassona Global Imaging Ltd, a leader in medical imaging solutions, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Ghana’s healthcare infrastructure through training and advanced technology. In collaboration with Mindray, a leading manufacturer of ultra-modern X-ray machines, the company recently organized a specialized training session for seventy (70) BSc Medical Imaging Technology students selected from the Department of Medical Imaging of the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Tamale. The training, held on 27 March 2025 at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, focused on the relevance of ultrasound technology and its associated advanced technologies in practical medical diagnostics.
Ghana’s healthcare sector faces significant challenges, particularly in the availability of reliable diagnostic tools. Limited access to modern medical imaging equipment often hampers accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. Cassona Global Imaging Ltd seeks to bridge this gap by equipping healthcare professionals with state-of-the-art tools to enhance patient care.
During the training, specialists guided the students through the latest advancements in ultrasound technology, particularly its applications in gynecology. Speaking at the event, Madam Gladys Tetteh, Sales Leader of Cassona Global Imaging Ltd, emphasized the company’s dedication to engaging stakeholders in the health sector. She highlighted the critical role of radiologists and sonographers in improving healthcare delivery and reiterated the Company’s intention to expand its presence in Tamale by establishing ultra-modern diagnostic centers. She noted that this initiative would improve access to high-quality imaging services and contribute to the training of healthcare professionals in the Northern Region.
The Head of the Medical Imaging Department at UDS, Dr. Abdul Nashirudeen Mumuni, expressed gratitude to Cassona Global Imaging Ltd and Mindray for their support to the Department. He emphasized the importance of such collaborations in enhancing the skills of Medical Imaging Technology students and fostering innovation in the healthcare sector. Dr. Mumuni expressed hope for future engagements that would further strengthen medical imaging training and practice in the region.
