Dr. Napoleon B. Sam is a Senior Lecturer and head of Department at the Department of Medical Research and Innovation, School of Medicine, University for Development Studies (UDS).  He is a professional Statistician, Biostatistician, Epidemiologist, and a Scholar at Leaders of Africa Institute with vast experience in evidence based medicine, efficiency measurement in health care and modelling. He is also the manager at the Ghana Data Centre and the Deputy Director, Ghana Hub, NIHR-Global Surgery Unit.  He has exceptional command over some Statistical Software Applications and Data Visualization Software such as SPSS, MS Excel, Epi Data, Epi-Info, MiniTab, EViews, GraphPad Prism, STATA, REDCap, Tableau, Data Wrapper, Power BI, Flourish, Canva and healthyR. He has the ability to introduce variety of statistical techniques to real and complex datasets, interpret and report statistical output.

He has special interest in applying Multivariate analysis, Meta-Analysis, Network Meta-Analysis, Time Series, Structural Equation Modelling, Propensity Score Matching, Logistic Regression, and Survival Analysis to Infectious diseases, Autoimmune diseases, and Influence of Meteorological factors on diseases. He is an expert in Data Management, Data analysis and Data Envelopment Analysis. He has twenty-four published articles with eighteen of them in SCI journals.

Dr. Napoleon is also a leader at the Methodist Church, Ghana with incredible reputation. He is a member of: Ghana Science Association, Ghana Statistical Association, Leaders of Africa Institute and International Biometric Society, Ghana Region. He has also won several awards/honors including:  Best Postgraduate Foreign Student for 2020 Graduation; Anhui Medical University, China, Alumni Liaison Ambassador; Anhui Medical University In-charge of Ghana and Africa graduates. (2020) and Chinese Scholarship Council Award; Chinese Government, China (2017).

Dr. Napoleon has several publications in local and international journals to his credit.
