Dr. David Ayim Antwi is a Ghanaian dental surgeon based in Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana. He is a graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Class of 2017, and has completed postgraduate residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is currently a member of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. In addition, he serves as a faculty member at the University for Development Studies, School of Dentistry, where he is the acting head of the Basic and Diagnostic Oral Health Sciences Department.
As a young specialist practicing in a low-resource and underserved region, Dr. Antwi is committed to delivering high-quality general and specialized dental care to Tamale and surrounding communities. His work is driven by a passion to reduce inequalities in access to advanced dental services across Ghana. This commitment motivates him to continuously upgrade his clinical knowledge and skills to better serve Northern Ghana. He also practices privately, where he mentors young practitioners and builds his managerial experience.
Beyond clinical work, Dr. Antwi serves as the acting Clinical Coordinator of the DEENT Sub BMC at Tamale Teaching Hospital. Outside his professional duties, he enjoys writing, watching movies, and spending time with his family. He is the youngest of five children and the younger of identical twins. He has been married for almost four years to Dr. Gloria Antwi, a fellow medical professional.
