Dr. Michael Ayamga is a Development Economist and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agriculture and Resource Economics. He holds a PhD in Development Studies from the Ghanaian-German Center for Development Studies at the University of Ghana, an Mphil. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from the University for Development Studies. The focus of his research is on agricultural commercialization, the land question and African smallholders. Dr. Ayamga has been a visiting Scholar at the University of Guelph, Ontario Canada and the Center Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn. He has won numerous Fellowships including, the Volkswagen Post-Doctoral Fellowship, DAAD Fellowship and the Carnegie Fellowship. Dr. Ayamga has extensive Civil Society Engagement Record and regularly serves as an advisor for many Civil Society Groups in Ghana, Including ActionAid, World University Service of Canada, Ghana's Ministry of Food and Agriculture. He is currently the Coordinator of the West African Center for Sustainable Rural Transformation, https://www.zef.de/index.phpid=2321&project=98&contact=447&no_cache=1 a DAAD Center of Excellence in Africa at the Faculty of Agribusiness and Communication Sciences.
