Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments and Lecturers drawn from various Faculties and Schools converged at the UDS International Conference Center on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 for a two-day training of trainers’ workshop on course material development in open and distance learning. The training session was organized by the UDS Center for Distance and Continuing Education in collaboration with the University Of Cape Coast College Of Distance Education. Participants were schooled on course development strategies, instructional design in open and distance learning and self-assessment exercises as well as tutor marked assignments.

The Coordinator of the UDS Center for Distance and Continuing Education Dr. Ebenezer Owusu Sekyere, while expressing his appreciation to the Facilitators and UDS management urged participants to work assiduously towards the realization of the cardinal goals of the training programme. 

The Pro Vice-Chancellor and Representative of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Seidu Al-Hassan observed that distance education was a practical medium of getting education closer to the people and an effective tool for executing the mandate of the university as contained in the UDS strategic plan. The workshop was facilitated by Prof. Isaac Galyvon, Provost of the University Of Cape Coast College Of Distance Education, Prof. Dela Ahiahogah, Head of Academic Programmes, and Prof. J.N. Buah, Head of Department of Science and Mathematics.
