GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING UNIT

The Campus has a Counseling Unit that operates under the Dean of students.

  1. Assistance Registrar in charge- Mba Asalma Richard

He is supported by:

  1. The Vice Dean of Students-Mr. Cliff S. Maasole,  M.Phil., (Ghana)
  2. Senior Hall Tutor- Ms. Dzigbodi A. Doke, M. Phil, (Ghana)

The Unit is located at Bamahu, the new site and provides guidance services including individual Counseling to both Staff and Students from all the faculties.

In view of the vast nature of the Campus, plans are far advanced to open up an Office at the old Administration site to cater for the needs of students at that end.

Among the activities designed by the Unit for2009\2010 Academic year include;

-Orientation on examinations (Level 100)
-Orientation on the choice of courses\Programmes.(Level 200)
-Workshop on stress management for staff and students.
-Career guidance \ seminar for Final year Students.

Despite the constraints the Unit faces in terms of logistics, it is worth noting here that students are beginning to feel the importance of the unit and each day, a number of them do avail themselves for Counseling. Most of the issues that come up cut across social, personal, academic and vocational issues.

It will be much appreciated if the necessary logistics are provided to the Unit to enable it promote the provision of guidance services on the campus.
